Jacob’s wives and sons. Joseph is sold into Egypt and rescues his family from the severe 7-year famine and drought. Jacob’s sons move into Egypt and develop into the nation of Israel. They fall into slavery. God rescues them and delivers them to Canaan – but they refuse to enter and are condemned to wander in the wilderness for a total of 40 years. When they finally enter the land they begin to eliminate the Canaanites, but are not faithful to God and are not able to do so completely.
